Mr. Adeleke Oluseun Kara, was born on 26th May, 1956 to the family of the Late Mr. Lamidi and Mrs. Julianah Kara of Mogun-Oja Compound, Ikorodu, Lagos State. He started his Primary Education in 1963 at African Bethel School, Maya, Ikorodu. He obtained his WASC at Ijebu-Ode Grammar School which he attended between 1970 and 1974.
In 1976, he attended Federal College of Education, Okene for NCE (Agric. Science). He taught Agricultural Science during his Youth Service at llofa Grammar School, llofa, Kwara State and thereafter joined the Lagos State Teaching Service as Master Grade III in 1980 at Govt. Teachers’ College, Ikorodu. He was later admitted into the University of Ibadan in 1981 on study leave without pay for a three-year Bachelors’ Degree programme in Education (Guidance and Counseling).
He was reabsorbed into the Teaching Service and was posted to Ikorodu Grammar School in 1984. About half of his teaching career was spent at Oriwu College, lkorodu, (1988 – 2002) as a Vice Principal and as a Principal. He was at lpakodo Grammar School in 2002 for a year after which he was deployed as the Pioneer Principal to Civil Service Junior Model College, Igbogbo, 2002 – 2010.
Mr. Kara had the privilege of serving as Chairman, Lagos State Boarding Schools Principal Forum (2010-2013) and as a Member of the Technical Committee on Rehabilitation of Public Schools in 2017. He had received series of Honours/Awards in recognition of his impressive contributions to the development of the society one of which was “Role Model Award, Ikorodu Division, 2004”. Mr. Adeleke Kara statutorily retired from the Service as Director of Education on 1st August, 2015.
