Victoria Mopelola PEREGRINO (Mrs)-Chairman, TESCOM

An astute educationist, Mrs. Victoria Mopelola Peregrino (JP) was born in Lagos, on 11th November, 1952, to the family of Late Pa and Ma Yussuf Adeyemo. She had her primary school education at Methodist Primary and Middle School, Ashanti, Bekwai and proceeded to Presbyterian Training College, Agona Nsaba, Ghana.

Armed with her Teacher’s Certificate ‘A’ and GCE ‘O’ Levels, she left the shores of Ghana in 1977 for Nigeria and continued her education at the College of Education, University of Lagos, where she was awarded the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) in Mathematics and Geography (Upper Credit).

On her relocation to Jos, Plateau State, she worked briefly as a Contract staff at Government Teachers College (Pivotal), Jos before enrolling at the University of Jos to further her Education. She earned a Bachelor’s degree  in Mathematics Education (Second Class Upper Division) as well as a Master’s Degree in Education Psychology (Distinction), specializing in Tests and Measurement.

On request by the University of Jos, She was deployed to the University for her mandatory one-year National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and upon completion, she was offered appointment as a Mathematics Lecturer in the Remedial Studies Department of the University.

In 1986, Mrs Victoria M. Peregrino moved in to join her husband in Lagos and was absorbed into the Lagos State Teaching Service on Transfer of Service. Her career trajectory traversed:

● Defunct School of Basic Studies, Agidingbi. (Education Officer GL.09)

● Gbagada Grammar School, Gbagada. (Senior Master GL.10)

● Defunct PP TESCOM. (Planning, Research Information & Statistics and Personnel Management Department)

● Wesley Girls Secondary School (Principal)

● Eva Adelaja Senior Girls High School (Principal)

● Ajayi Crowther Senior High School, Bariga (Principal)

● Education District 1 (Tutor General/Permanent Secretary).

Mrs Victoria M. Peregrino is a seasoned Administrator and School Improvement Specialist with a demonstrated history and enviable track record. She has helped to accelerate the transformation of teaching and learning process in Lagos State through her leadership style, agility and innovations.

A multiple award winner and a stickler for details, her leadership qualities dated back from her Primary School and College days where she served as Senior Prefect.

An articulate and thorough bred professional Teacher, Mrs Victoria M. Peregrino, upon her retirement in 2012 served as

  2. Lagos Eko Project

Member of the Governing Council Board of the underlisted Higher Institutions in Lagos State:

A member of the Mathematics Association of Nigeria (MAN), Mrs. Victoria M. Peregrino is happily married and blessed with children and grandchildren.
